Lines of Connection

Project/Residency Timeframe:

15. - 26. Januar 2025

A group of international dancers from Japan, India, Italy, Poland, Germany and Portugal were invited to perform at the Expo Osaka 2025. It is a collaboration of Vrijheid Global Art Community based in Osaka, Japan, Zeitgeist Kollektiv based in Essen, Germany, and independent artists based in Linz, Austria.

“Lines of Connection” is a dance performance inspired by diverse cultures and languages, with connection, internationality, interculturality, and intercontinental dialogue as its central themes. Throughout the piece, performers create lines of connection between each other, while a live music and plant-powered soundscape fosters an intimate atmosphere. A living plant, from which the soundscape draws its signal input, will be physically present on stage, symbolising the interconnectedness of all living beings and adding depth to the performance.
