Michael Zandl

‘Food’ (working title) will be the 4th full length circus creation by Michael Zandl in collaboration with Korzo Theater, funded by the Ministry of OC&W, city The Hague and Bundeskanzleramt Austria.

In this creation, Michael will for the first time step off the stage to make his debut as a director together with a collective of 4 circus artists: Hedvig Brodén, Jakob Vöckler, Karin Brodén and Fidel Rott.

‘Food’ will be a circus creation that takes as a starting point of inspiration the never-ending human consumption and its impact on our environment and society. By focusing the research on the physical act of eating the collective invites the audience into an absurd world of consumption where the lines between edible and non-edible will slowly fade away. By mixing disciplines like object manipulation, acrobatics and illusion theater with strong physical storytelling, ‘Food’ will be a fresh and captivating circus performance with a subtle sense of humor.
