tanzhafenfestival (dance harbour festival)

With its diverse and innovative program the tanzhafenFESTIVAL functions as a point of intersection between the arts of dance, of media and of performance. So, it reflects the development of the contemporary dance in a European context.

As it is a young festival having its finger on the pulse of the European dance events, high artistic standards and a diverse program is important for us. In the course of this, we want to build bridges and to impart which should be underlined by new performance concepts, new places and new formats and reached through interchange, discussion and participation as well. Our aim is to address a wide public, from young to old, from professionals to people, who want to explore new fields.

To reach this aim, we have close co-operations with various institutions and event locations of the City of Linz and of the State of Upper Austria. It is our ambition to create an atmosphere where exchange not only happens amongst dancers, but also includes the audience.
