Over the last fifteen years, Sachi Cote has worked as a performer, choreographer and teacher of dance and yoga all over the world. She has performed off-Broadway in NYC, at Vienna’s Life Ball and Paris Fashion Week; taught dance in remote regions of Fiji and Peru as well as for the professional communtiy of Wellington, NZ and as visiting faculty at various universities and private colleges. Most recently, she founded a scholarship program for young dancers to travel and perform at international music festivals. Her choreography has been showcased on international platforms such as New Prague Dance Festival, Barcelona Dance Awards and Riverfest Elora in Canada.
Through her diverse and ongoing research, Sachi has found the freedom in movement has the ability to completely shift energy for all human beings, including those suffering. When working with US veterans suffering from various neurodegenerative diseases, 100% of participants claimed to feel better after a single session. Dance and yoga provide moments of peace when one is able to forget about the inherent struggles in life; in the case of refugee children, the adversity they were born into through no fault of their own. Movement has the capacity to heal, to change, to transcend and breathe new life into us.
