Birgit Fischer is a physiotherapist, yogini and passionate aerial artist. She lives and works independently in her own practice in Linz. The study of physiotherapy in Wels was followed by a two-year stay in Berlin. On the one hand to gain professional experience and on the other hand to explore the city and its endless possibilities and thereby encounter a previously undiscovered passion. In “VUESCH”, the Association for the Overcoming of Gravity, she inhaled the world of aerial artistry and came to contemporary dance through the Contemporary Circus. After experimenting on the trapeze, on the Chinese Pole and the aerial hoop, it´s the infinite possibilities of the vertical silk, which always generates fascination. Sometimes trapped in it as in life, entangled and knotted, fallen the next moment, dissolved, floating in the air. A human hanging on a silk. Spinning and slowly finding the ground again. Rooted in the earth again. In a dance, finding the way up again, high in the air, in the sky to then fall again. The dance from the ground to the air and in the air becomes more and more important during her training with the silk.. In the flow of breath, exploring the infinite possibilities of dancing, creating pictures and telling stories is what she loves most. . Participation in Masterclasses with Ariadna Vendelova, Hanne Coeckelberghs, Sarah Romanovsky, Air Candy Aeral Arts Festival Austria, “Les recontres de danse aerienne”, Aerial Arts Festival Berlin – Yoga and Aerial Yoga teacher training in Thailand at Ulu-Yoga Dance Club RedSapata 2018/2019 Ongoing training in the field of air and dance, as well as a physiotherapist.
